A study performed by Arizona State University found that people with a diet rich in vitamin C were able to do more exercise without feeling fatigued. Over 55% of the participants of this study claimed their overall fatigue levels declined when they introduced more vitamin C into their diets. If you struggle to get through your workouts, then it is time to add some kale to your pre-workout smoothie. 

Boost Your Stamina and Endurance With Kale

When putting your body through the paces in the gym, you will need stamina and endurance to finish your workout. Kale is packed with potassium, calcium and magnesium. Each of these elements is known to boost the body’s ability to withstand high-intensity activity without giving out. Potassium regulates the water levels in the body. Losing too much water during a workout can lead to muscle cramps developing. Increasing potassium levels is a great way to combat this common problem. 

Calcium aids in hormone regulation. A lack of calcium can affect bone formation and cause testosterone deficiencies in male athletes. Adding kale to your pre-workout smoothie can help you increase calcium levels in the body. 

Magnesium helps your muscles relax after contractions during a workout. Muscle cramps, fatigue, and nausea are warning signs that magnesium levels are low. Addressing your magnesium problems will be much easier if you incorporate kale into your daily routine. Once you see how good your body feels after consuming more kale, you will wonder how you ever got along without this leafy green.
